Police Charge Man with Kidnapping, Assault, and Rape
Around 1:00 p.m. today, Jackson Police arrested Marcus Jones, age 27, of Jackson.
On March 23, a 29-year-old Jackson woman told police that Jones,
who is an acquaintance, held her against her will at an apartment on
Markwest Cove for three days. During this time he beat her, burned
her with cigarettes, and raped her. She was able to escape the
apartment on March 26 by running out the door. She went to the next
street over where she sought the help of stranger.
Marcus Jones is charged with Especially Aggravated Kidnapping,
Aggravated Assault, and Aggravated Rape. He will be arraigned
Friday morning in Jackson City Court at 8:00.
