At the last JMCS board meeting the school board voted to approve Dr. Nancy Zambito’s recommendation for a reorganization of the Central Office. Dr Vicki Lake made the presentation to the board about the Magnet School concept for JCM and Dr. Smith later expressed her enthusiasm for the plan. The presentation by Dr. Connie Smith highlighted a Health and Medical Magnet School as one possible future for JCM that was encouraging. Dr Smith told the board that she would make sure money for a reconstitution plan up to 300k dollars was provided.
She expressed concerns about the current number of inexperienced teachers and teachers on alternative certification. She was clear that the process for reconstituting a school would have to be adhered to for the help to be available.
Administrative and personnel changes were anticipated at Jackson Central Merry High School after the explanation / presentation at this month’s school board mtg by Dr. Connie Smith.
On Wednesday the first step in the reconstitution process began with a meeting and letter of notification
