Police Charge Woman for Assisting and Harboring Attempted Murder Suspect

Jackson police have charged Regina Dunigan, 42, of Jackson with Accessory After the Fact to an Attempted Murder.

Jackson police received a call to the emergency room at County General Hospital.

Latoya McNairy, 28, of Jackson was being treated for injuries sustained in a stabbing. She told police that she had been at a friend's house in the 1400 block of N. Royal Street. She argued with an acquaintance, Heather Smith, 26, of Jackson over the phone.

Smith threatened to harm McNairy and later drove to the house. The women continued to argue on the front porch. Smith pulled out a knife and stabbed McNairy as she attempted to run into the house.

McNairy suffered multiple lacerations to the head and arms. She was treated and released.

Smith was set a bond of $100,000 and Dunigan was set a bond of $50,000. They both will be formally arraigned in Jackson City Court on Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00 a.m.
