Man Pleads Guilty to Assault And Child Abuse

UPDATE ON MELTON M. DEE DULIN
On January 26, 2012, Melton M. Dee Dulin, age 48, of 360 Lakewood Drive East, Jackson, TN, appeared in General Sessions Court, Division I, on charges of Aggravated Domestic Assault and Child Abuse and Neglect. Mr. Melton pled guilty on lesser charges of Simple Assault (Domestic) and Child Abuse and Neglect.
Mr. Dulin was sentenced to 11months and 29 days supervised probation. He had to forfeit his handgun and handgun carry permit.
BACKGROUND:
On December 14, 2011, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into allegations of excessive abuse during the discipline of a 13-year-old female by her step-grandfather.
The investigation revealed the 13-year-old had injuries to her back, lower left and right legs in the shape of a belt. There were also markings on her left hand.
He was arraigned in General Sessions Court on December 15, 2011, and bond was set at $5,000.00. The suspect was ordered to have no contact with victim.
