Police Investigate Homicide; Man Dies as a Result of Wednesday Evening Shooting
JACKSON TN, February 2, 2012, 21;36 On Wednesday around 6:10 p.m. Jackson police received a call of a shooting on the campus of Lane College, 545 Lane Ave. Justin Clark, 21, of Jackson, was rushed to the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital by ambulance. He was pronounced dead at 8:55 this morning. Clark was not a Lane student.
Based on the investigation thus far, Clark was involved in a fight with an unidentified black male near the gymnasium. At some point, multiple shots were fired and Clark was struck. Police do not know at this time if the person who Clark was fighting with was the shooter.
Investigators believe there was a large group of people who witnessed this incident. Jackson, TN 02/1/2012; 20:24 WNWS News: Approximately 6:10 PM JPD responded to a call of shots fired. This far the investigation has revealed a shooting occurred on Lane College Campus, Victim was shot once in the head, taken to area hospital by EMS and is listed in critical condition. JPD investigating. Victim's name has not been released.
