Man Arrested and Charged in May 12 Armed Robbery of Varsity Market
Paul Cheairs, of Jackson, was arrested Saturday around 9 a.m. in connection with the May 12 armed robbery of Varsity Market at 367 Oil Well Rd. He was arraigned Monday morning in Jackson City Court. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail on $75,000 bond. His next scheduled court date is May 31 in City Court.
BACKGROUND: Around 10:50 p.m., Cheairs, 19, entered the business with a gun and demanded money. The store employee met his demands and he left the store with cash.
