Home Burglary Investigation, One Suspect In Custody

Sept 11, 2012, Madison County,  Shortly after 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious person driving a small red car in the 700 block of Deep Gap Road. A short time later, Captain Anthony Heavner and Sergeant Luke Finney stopped a vehicle matching the car’s description at the intersection of Beech Bluff Road and Mifflin Road.

Two black males jumped from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was armed with a handgun. Captain Heavner pointed his weapon at the suspect and the suspect dropped his weapon and fled. The second suspect also fled on foot.

A short time later, one suspect was taken into custody.

The K-9 Unit and helicopter of the Jackson Police Department assisted in the search for the second suspect.

Upon further investigation, officers found property in the red vehicle that is believed to be stolen from the 900 block of Mifflin Road.

The investigation is continuing.
