UPDATE: Arrest Made in "Shots Fired" Investigation

Sept. 12, 2012, Jackson, TN -- The Madison County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit has formally charged two 17-year-old juveniles with Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the shooting on Hwy. 138 and Duncan Lane in the Denmark, TN, and Mercer area on or about September 9, 2012, shortly 12:00 a.m.

A detention hearing has not been scheduled at this time.

BACKGROUND:

The investigation revealed that Donovan Burton reported that suspect(s) in a tan extended cab vehicle, possibly a 2002 model, began firing shots at him; his mother, Debra Burton; and a friend, Quadros Brooks, as they were driving on Duncan Lane. When victims reached their residence located on Hwy. 138, suspects continued shooting toward the vehicle. The suspects left traveling south on Hwy. 138.
