One Suspect Still At-Large, Beech Bluff Area Home Burglaries, Charges Filed

CHARGES FILED ON DEEP GAP ROAD INCIDENT

(Sept. 12, 2012) Madison County, TN - Today two individuals were formally charged in the incident that occurred on Deep Gap Road on September 11, 2012.

Jarvis Antwon Hodges, age 25, of 550 Arlington St., Jackson, TN, was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Vandalism and Resisting Evading/Frisk/Halt or Arrest.

Thaddeus Jarold Johnson, age 23, of 3350 Mallard Drive, Clarksville, TN, has been charged with Aggravated Burglary, Vandalism, Resisting Stop/Frisk/Arrest and Carrying or Possession of Weapon.

BACKGROUND:
On September 11, 2012, shortly after 9:00 a.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious person driving a small red car in the 700 block of Deep Gap Road. A short time later, Captain Anthony Heavner and Sergeant Luke Finney stopped a vehicle matching the car’s description at the intersection of Beech Bluff Road and Mifflin Road.

Two black males jumped from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was armed with a handgun. Captain Heavner pointed his weapon at the suspect and the suspect dropped his weapon and fled. The second suspect also fled on foot.

A short time later, one suspect was taken into custody. The K-9 Unit and helicopter of the Jackson Police Department are assisting in the search for the second suspect.

Upon further investigation, officers found property in the red vehicle that is believed to be stolen from the 900 block of Mifflin Road.

The investigation is continuing.
