Jackson Man Convicted of Kidnapping, Att. Manslaughter

(Sept 19, 2012), Jackson TN-- 34 year-old Alvin “AJ” Waller, Jr., of 41 Fox Street, Jackson, TN, appeared in Madison County Circuit Court, Division II and was found guilty of Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter; Aggravated Assault; and Especially Aggravated Kidnapping during a two-day trial by a Madison County jury.

His sentencing date has been scheduled for October 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Circuit Court, Division II.

BACKGROUND:
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation into an early morning shooting that occurred on a field road located behind Grace Baptist Church, 1646 Hwy. 70 East, Jackson, TN at approximately 2:15 a.m. on August 16, 2011.

The investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Bridgett Michelle Cole, age 32, of 227 Lindsey Street, Jackson, TN, and an unidentified black male were parked behind Grace Baptist where they engaged in consensual sex. The unidentified male then produced a handgun and intentionally shot the victim.

The victim received a single gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital where she was treated and released.
