Couple and Second Woman Charged in Shooting and Robbery

(Sept. 27, 2012) Jackson TN - Jackson police have charged Skylar Reeves, 21, Rasheka Sampson, 22, and Whitney Horne, 25, with several charges related to Wednesday's shooting and robbery on Carolane Drive.

Around 5:20 p.m. Jackson police were called to the 40 block of Carolane Dr. Isaiah Jones, 13, was walking down Carolane with an Xbox video game console when he was approached, robbed and shot at by a man and two women.

The investigation has revealed that Rasheka Sampson lives on the 50 block of Camelot Cv. She had previously reported to Jackson police that her Xbox was stolen during a Sept. 18 residential burglary.

She was driving her SUV and pulled up next to Jones on Carolane Dr., which is in the same neighborhood as her Camelot Cv. home. Her boyfriend, Skylar Reeves, and a friend, Whitney Horne, 25, were in the SUV with her. Reeves got of the SUV with a gun and threatened Jones. Sampson took the Xbox from Jones and handed it to Horne.

Jones' aunt ran over to intervene. Reeves then fired shots into the air and shot at Jones and his aunt. Nobody was struck.

Shortly afterward, police arrested Sampson, Reeves and Horne. They also recovered the Xbox inside Sampson's SUV. Police checked the serial number on the Xbox and confirmed that it was not stolen from Sampson. However, police kept the Xbox and are trying to determine the rightful owner.

Sampson and Horne were charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property.

Reeves was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony.

All three were arraigned Thursday at 8 a.m. in Jackson City Court. Sampson and Horne are being held on $75,000 bond and Reeves is being held on $150,000 bond at the Madison County Jail. Their next scheduled court appearance is Oct. 4 in City Court.
