Oct. 1, 2012 JACKSON TN - About 9:52 p.m., Jackson police responded to a robbery in progress at the Dollar General Store, 1028 Campbell Street.
Officers arrived on the scene and saw a car leaving the area. The responding officer could see that the driver was wearing an orange hoodie, which matched the description of one of the robbers. The officer attempted to stop the car on N. Highland Ave. The driver refused to stop and sped away leading police on a pursuit. The car took several turns and stopped in the area of Preston and Sullivan Streets.
A group of suspects ran from the car. Police surrounded the area and began an extensive ground search. Bryant Gill, 20, was arrested in an alley between Preston and Hale Streets. Jaquan Bryant, 18, was found lying in the back yard of a house on the 300 block of Hale Street. Monterious Hill, 19, and a 16-year-old male youth were both found hiding in a shed in the backyard of a house on the 500 block of N. Royal Street. A gun was found in their getaway car.
Investigators were able to determine that Gill, Bryant, Hill and the 16-year-old male robbed the Dollar General Store at gunpoint. They also stole the purse of a 29-year-old female customer who was in the store.
Gill, Bryant and Hill were arraigned this morning in Jackson City Court on charges of aggravated robbery, theft over $500 and felony evading arrest. They are all being held at the Madison County Jail on $75,000 bond. Their next scheduled court appearance is Oct. 11 in City Court.
The youth also faces charges of aggravated robbery, theft over $500 and felony evading arrest.
He is being held at the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center. He awaits a detention hearing in Juvenile Court.
