Mayor Announces City Moves To Close Another Bar

In a press release today, Mayor Jerry Gist announced, "On my instructions, the city attorney has filed a nuisance action to close Larry’s Sports Bar, which is located at 305 Hale Street, because of illegal activities associated with its operation. This business is a nuisance for its neighborhood and the city in general. For that reason, the city attorney filed suit to permanently enjoin the owner of the property and the owner of the business from further operation."

The Mayor went on to add "The city remains committed to using all available tools to fight the businesses in all parts of our city whose activities create a climate which invites or attracts criminal activity."
