School Board Members Set Superintendent Organizational Calendar
At a special called meeting on Thursday the Jackson Madison County School Board held a teleconference call with members of BWP Associates.
The purpose was to discuss the search of a new director of schools and set a calendar.
The board opted not to have BWP lead any community meetings. BWP told the board that extra service would cost $1,000 per consultant plus expenses. BWP felt they still had sufficient relevant data from the community meetings held in 2011 for the last superintendent search.
That search failed to produce a successful candidate.
A calendar was set and agreed upon as a schedule for the first part of the search.
BWP told board members they have already placed the opening on their website and have begun to receive inquiries. Additionally several more ads will be placed including ads in national search publications.
According to their website the application procedure includes
• A letter of application indicating qualifications and reasons for interest in the position;
• A brief description of major accomplishments;
• A current resume;
• A completed Applicant Data Form; and
• College/university transcripts and submit at least four letters of recommendation.
