Tennessee Teachers Endorse Rep. Johnny Shaw

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Education Association Fund for Children and Public Education (TEA-FCPE), the political action arm of the Tennessee Education Association, has announced its endorsement of Rep. Johnny Shaw for House District 80. House District 80 includes Hardeman and Madison counties.

“Rep. Johnny Shaw won the support of teachers in his district and statewide based on his past support of public education issues,” said Gera Summerford, Sevier County math teacher and TEA president. “He recognizes that the state’s future depends on strong public schools, and his record merits the support of the education community, parents, and all others interested in the future of public education in Tennessee.”

“Public schools have a friend in Rep. Johnny Shaw. We look forward to working with him again in the 2013 legislative session,” the TEA president continued.
