17 year-old's Juvenile Transfer Hearing

On November 7, 2012, 17 year-old Markus Murray, Jr., appeared in Juvenile Court on charges of Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Theft of Property, Criminal Trespassing and 2 counts of Simple Assault.

After the hearing, the Honorable Judge Christy Little transferred Markus Murray, Jr. to be tried as an adult in Madison County Circuit Court.   

His bond was set at $75,000.00 and he was ordered not to have contact with the victims.

 

On October 2, 2012, Dominique Davon Holmes, Gregory Alexander Jarrod Hines, Ladarion Pearson and the 17-year-old juvenile appeared in General Sessions Court, Division I for arraignment before the Honorable Hugh Harvey, Jr. 

Dominique Davon Holmes and Gregory Alexander Jarrod Hines appeared on charges of Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property (under $500.00).  Bond was set at $250,000.00. 

Ladarion Pearson also appeared on charges of Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Theft of Property (under $500.00) and a Probation Violation.  No bond was set. 

The 17-year-year old juvenile is being held on the same charges, but at juvenile court.

Dominique Davon Holmes, Gregory Alexander Jarrod Hines and Ladarion Pearson preliminary hearing has been scheduled for October 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in General Sessions Court, Division I.  

BACKGROUND

On September 29, 2012, at approximately 10:00 p.m. the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a residential burglary and assault of the homeowner at 507 Highway 152 in north east Madison County near the Gibson County line.

The investigation revealed that Curtis Staggs came home to find a small black car in his driveway.  He observed four (4) black males running out of his house.  When he confronted the suspects, he was assaulted by the four (4) men and robbed.  Mr. Staggs was transported by EMS to Milan General Hospital where he was treated and released.

Investigators have formally charged the following individuals for the 507 Highway 152 incident:

Dominique Davon Holmes, age 21, of 21 Oakridge Drive, Jackson, TN, was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property (under $500.00);

Gregory Alexander Jarrod Hines, age 18, of Ridgemont, Jackson, TN, was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property (under $500.00);

Ladarion Pearson, age 22, of 21 Oakridge Drive, Jackson, TN, was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property (under $500.00); and

The 17-year-old juvenile was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property (under $500.00).

The suspects then left that location and went to 3553 Christmasville Road where they attempted to burglarize the residence.  Prior to making entry, the homeowners Larry and Pamela Horne confronted the four (4) suspects where an altercation ensued and the couple was assaulted.  The suspects then left the scene and were apprehended by deputies a short time later. 

Mr. and Mrs. Horne did not require medical treatment

Investigators have also formally charged the following individuals for the 3553 Christmasville Road incident:    

Dominique Davon Holmes, age 21, of 21 Oakridge Drive, Jackson, TN, was charged with two (2) counts of Simple Assault, Criminal Trespassing and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor;

Gregory Alexander Jarrod Hines, age 18, of Ridgemont, Jackson, TN, was charged with two (2) counts of Simple Assault, Criminal Trespassing, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor;

Ladarion Pearson, age 22, of 21 Oakridge Drive, Jackson, TN, was charged with two (2) counts of Simple Assault, Criminal Trespassing,  Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Probation Violation; and

The 17-year-old juvenile was charged with two (2) counts of Simple Assault and Criminal Trespassing.

On October 2, 2012, the three (3) adults will appear for arraignment in General Sessions Court, Division I at 8:30 a.m.  The 17-year-old will face charges in Juvenile Court on a later date.

The investigation is continuing.
