Truck Used In ATM Heist Recovered. Stolen ATM Also Found

On November 8, 2012, at around 1:00p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a deer hunter in the Antioch road area that reported an abandoned pickup truck that is believed to be the vehicle used in the theft of an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at Regions Bank in Three Way last Sunday morning.

The investigation revealed that the 1994 two-tone red and white Chevy Silverado pickup truck, with retired Army tag# 5023M, found in a wooded area with an ATM in the bed was reported stolen to the Jackson Police Department over the weekend.  The bottom of the ATM had been sawed open and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Background:

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the theft of an ATM stolen from Regions Bank located at 8 Mason Road, Three-Way, TN, on or about November 4, 2012, at approximately 2:30 a.m. 

The investigation revealed that the suspect(s) used a forklift that was stolen from the construction site at McDonald’s on Hwy. 45 east in Medina, TN.  The forklift was used to remove and load the ATM into a two-toned pick-up truck.

The investigation is continuing.
