The Greer Campaign Unites Fathers and Families with Turkey Handoff

JACKSON, Tenn. – Nov. 14 – The Greer Campaign’s Fourth Annual Turkey Handoff will help fathers provide turkeys for their families’ Thanksgiving celebrations. The event will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21, from 3:30 p.m. through 5:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army, located at 125 Allen Ave. in Jackson, Tenn.

According to founder Jabari Greer, the Turkey Handoff provides opportunities for giving and receiving. Greer said, “This event is a great opportunity for fathers to be examples of service to their children — through purchasing turkeys for others and by helping distribute them. Of course, when a dad provides for his children by bringing home a turkey, that’s a great example of caring for his family.”

Individuals can reserve a turkey by calling 731-736-2132 between Nov. 14 and Nov. 19. Unless additional donations are received, 200 turkeys will be distributed on a first-reserved basis. Individuals can call 731-736-2132 or email sandy(at)thegreercampaign(dot)org to provide turkeys or volunteer to serve, also.
