Body Discovered Along Denmark Jackson Rd.

Nov 15, 2012, MADISON CO. At approximately 5:22 a.m., this morning the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an apparent dead body discovered lying on the edge of the roadway in the 2600 block of Denmark-Jackson Road, Denmark, TN.

AMMENDED: The body is identified as a black/male that appears to be in his late teens to early 20’s. He Lazar Arnez Smithwas wearing a black medical type brace on his right wrist and hand.  The initials “LZ” are tattooed on the back of his right hand and the name “Lita” tattooed on his neck.  TATTOO COULD POSSIBLY  BE “RITA,” “KITA” OR “KETA.”

He apparently died from multiple gunshot wounds.  Victim’s identification is unknown at this time.

After the family members reviewed the photographs of the tattoos on the body, the victim has been positively identified as Lazar Arnez Smith, age 26, last known address was 667 Old Humboldt Road, Apt. D, Jackson, TN.

The body has been transported to the Forensic Center in Nashville, TN, to determine the exact cause of death.
