Shooting Investigated

On November 19, 2012, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a bullet being fired into a residence at 1830 A Hwy. 70 East, Jackson, TN.

The investigation revealed that William Litton, II, advised responding deputies that a bullet went through his daughter’s bedroom window above where she was sleeping.

After a check of the area, deputies made contact with Jimmy Breedlove, age 67, of 219 Browns Church Road, Jackson, TN.  Mr. Breedlove advised that he had fired six to eight rounds at a deer.  Mr. Breedlove’s deer stand was located behind the Litton’s residence.

Jimmy Breedlove has been formally charged with Reckless Endangerment.

The investigation is continuing; however, the incident appears to be accidental.

The sheriff’s office reminds hunters to be cautious of the direction in which they are shooting.
