The Greer Campaign Executive Director Sandy Stewart said, “This is an evening of food, music and celebration to honor two of our classes of fathers who have completed our 12-week program in 2012. Having Magi perform and hearing from Nick will make it an inspiring time for fathers and families. Our work for fathers and families and Youth Town’s work to young men from addiction serve complementary roles in our region.”
Jabari Greer, the founder of The Greer Campaign, will also serve as grand marshal for the Jackson Christmas Parade on Monday, Dec. 3. Greer is the father of four and NFL cornerback for the New Orleans Saints. He graduated from Jackson’s South Side High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, where he was a three-year starter at cornerback for the Vols and a three-time National Champion Hurdler. He was signed by the Buffalo Bills in 2004 and became a starter for the Saints in 2009, the same season the New Orleans team won the Super Bowl.
Greer is passionate about supporting fatherhood — encouraging dads who are single or married to take active, loving, involved roles in their children’s lives. The Greer Campaign was established as a nonprofit in 2009 to serve fathers and families.
The next class for fathers will be held on Monday, January 8, 2013.
