Registered Sex Offender Appears in Court on Sexual Battery Charges

Richard Rushton appeared in General Sessions Court, Division I on charges of Sexual Battery on a 7-year old female.  He was bound over to the action of the Madison County Grand Jury. 

Richard Rushton’s bond remained at $100,000.00.

BACKGROUND: The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation into the report of a registered Tennessee Sex Offender inappropriately touching three female juveniles at Cornerstone Apostolic Church located on Mifflin Road, Jackson, TN, on or about September 21, 2012.

Richard Rushton, age 52, of 28 Warfield Cove, Jackson, TN, has been formally charged with Sexual Battery.  Bond was set at $100,000.00.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is also continuing their investigation into allegations of Richard Rushton videotaping under the dresses of several other females.
