PSEUDOEPHEDRINE INVESTIGATIONS LEAD TO 18 ARRESTS AND METH LAB SEIZURE
On November 29 and 30, 2012, the Jackson Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit conducted a pseudoephedrine diversion operation with the assistance of personnel form the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Drug Investigation Division, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and the West Tennessee Drug & Violent Crime Task Force. This operation was performed in cooperation with local pharmacies to target persons purchasing pseudoephedrine products for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine. Pseudoephedrine is the primary ingredient in decongestant cold medicines that have to be purchased through a pharmacy and not over-the-counter. It is also the most common essential precursor chemical used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance.
The investigations initiated during this operation led to the arrests of a total of 18 people. Cases were developed on 11 of them for Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture which is a class D felony, 2 for possession charges and 2 for driving related charges. Additional members of the West Tennessee Drug and Violent Crime Task Force follow-up on information gained from this operation which led them to the seizure of a Meth Lab in Gibson County and the arrest of the 3 additional suspects.
David Andrew Duvall, age 29, of 424 Christmasville Road in Jackson was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture and an outstanding arrest warrant. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex pending the outcome of his charges from the outstanding warrant.
Edward Allan Butler, age 37, of 544 Old Trenton Eaton Road in Trenton, TN was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
Eric James Horton, age 30, and Kimberly Nicole Hatten , age 20, both of 529 Hughes Road in Decaturville, TN were charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture. They were arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and are currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $5,000 bond each.
John Robert Beecham, age 33, of 705 McCollum Road in Reagan, TN was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture and Running a Stop Sign. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
Steven Paul North, age 18, of 705 Lambuth Blvd. in Jackson was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
Ronald Douglas Stoots, age 21, of 10 Duke Road in Humboldt, TN was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and was released from the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex after posting a $2,500 bond.
April Dawn York, age 22, of 3532 Medina Hwy. in Milan, TN was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture. She was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and was released from the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex after posting a $2,500 bond.
Ricky Thomas Green, age 49, of 2187 Mt. Vernon Road in Sharon, TN was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture, Driving on a Revoked Drivers License and Violation of Seatbelt Law. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and was released from the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex after posting a $5,000 bond.
Tonya Lynn Sawyer, age 37, of 185 Cole Road in Buena Vista, TN was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture. She was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
Roy Clint Mitchell, age 23, of 22 Morisch Road in Oakfield was charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
Trisha Lynn Buccieri, age 24, of 22 Morisch Road in Oakfield was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
Jonathan Lamar Harris, age 24, of 23 Red Bud in Jackson was charged with Possession of Marijuana. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and has been released from the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex on his own recognizance.
Andre Lamar Hall, age 44, of 54 Garland Drive, Apartment D in Jackson was charged with Driving on a Revoked Drivers License and Violation of Seatbelt Law. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and has been released from the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex on his own recognizance.
Gary Wayne Davis, age 39, of 1870 Maytown Road in Bruceton, TN was charged with Driving on a Suspended Drivers License and Speeding. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and has been released from the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex on his own recognizance.
The three remaining were arrested in connection with the Meth Lab seized in Gibson County.
