Jackson, TN - Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Investigators intercepted a parcel containing approximately 23 pounds of Marijuana that was bound for 95-A Harts Bridge Road in the Bemis community, which is the home of Chaerish Brice and Yakema Whiteside. An undercover officer delivered the parcel to 95-A Harts Bridge Road which was the address on the parcel label. Chaerish Brice came to the door and took possession of the package and returned inside the apartment. Immediately, the Metro Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at the residence.
The search of the premises revealed approximately 11 pounds of Marijuana in addition to the Marijuana contained in the package along with 6 Ecstasy (MDMA) pills which are a Schedule I Controlled Substance. The total 34 pounds of Marijuana and the Ecstasy pills seized have an estimated street value in excess of $54,500. Believed to be the proceeds of drug sales, electronics, new items of clothing and $12,192 in U.S. currency were also found and were seized under the civil forfeiture laws of the Tennessee Drug Control Act.
Chaerish Mariko Brice, age 35, and Yakema Sarita Whiteside, age 32, of 95-A Harts Bridge Road were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana over 20 lbs. with Intent to Sell or Distribute and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell or Distribute. Both are currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex where they await arraignment in Madison County General Sessions Court.
