Suspect Arrested In Shadow Lawn Burglary

Jackson Police have arrested 17 year old juvenile in connection with the burglary

of a residence on Shadow Lawn Dr. The suspect is charged with Aggravated

Burglary, Vandalism and Unlawful possession of a weapon. The juvenile

appeared before Madison County Juvenile Court Judge Christy Little today for a

detention hearing and will be tried at a later date.

On 11-29-2012 Officers were dispatched to Shadow Lawn Drive after a witness

reported seeing a suspect kick in the door to a residence. The witness was able

to provide a description of the suspect and keep the dispatcher updated on the

suspect’s activity. Officers found the back door to the residence had been kicked

open. Officers gave verbal commands to the suspect who gave up before a

police dog was released.

After the homeowner arrived home to check the residence, he discovered that

the suspect had hidden a handgun in the home before giving up to the police.

A citizen reporting suspicious activity is the reason this case was solved.
