Traffic Stop Produces Drug Arrest

12-01-2012, JACKSON TN - On Thursday an Investigator from the Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit and an Agent from the West Tennessee Drug and Violent Crime Task Force performed a vehicle stop along I-40 Westbound in Madison County for a traffic violation. The GMC Yukon was driven by Hugh Walker who was on his way to Colorado from North Carolina.

Further investigation revealed Mr. Walker to be in possession of approximately 1450.7 grams of Marijuana (3.23 pounds) and a digital scale. The Marijuana has an estimated street value of $5,200. Walker was arrested and the GMC Yukon along with $334.00 in U.S. currency was seized under the civil forfeiture laws of the Tennessee Drug Control Act.

Hugh Raven Walker, age 63, of 1219 Gold Park Road in Red Cliff, CO was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Violation of Seatbelt Law. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is currently being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
