Burglary Suspect Captured by Home Owner

Armed homeowner detains burglar in home until police arrive. Tom Marion Latrez Williams arrested

About 1:45 p.m. yesterday, Officers were called to a burglary in progress on St. James Cove. The home owner had come home to find someone in his home. He confronted the suspect at his back door at gunpoint and called police who arrested Tom Marion Latrez Williams, age 18 of Medon. Several items that had been removed from the home and staged nearby were located and returned to the owner.

The homeowner has a valid handgun carry permit.
Williams was arraigned in City Court this morning and remains in the Madison County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Police believe Williams may have been working with an accomplice and investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 424-8477
