Jan. 2013, JACKSON, TN -- Jackson police charged Kenneth Raymond Tuner in a Tuesday night shooting that injured his wife. Turner, 63, was arraigned Wednesday morning in Jackson City Court on charges of attempted murder, aggravated domestic assault and vandalism domestic abuse. His bond was set at $200,000. His next scheduled court appearance is Jan. 10 in City Court.
At 9:09 p.m. police responded to the shooting on the 30 block of Kipling Drive. Based on the investigation, Turner and his wife had an argument. He then poured sugar in her car's gas tank. The altercation continued inside their home. He then shot her in the leg while they were in the living room. She ran out the door, and he continued to shooting striking her a second time in the other leg.
As officers arrived on the scene, they encountered Turner in his driveway. He was armed with a revolver and a semi-automatic handgun. He surrendered and was taken into custody. There was evidence that both guns had been fired.
The woman was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was admitted for her injuries.
