Keep Jackson Beautiful Commission Meeting (January)

The Keep Jackson Beautiful Committee met on January 22.

Statistics were given from the "Chipping of the Green" event. There were 617 trees chipped up this year and that equaled out to about 4 1/2 truckloads of wood chips.

They also shared news from the Jackson Christmas Parade. Their float placed 2nd place.

They also discussed a recycling program that began at Southside High School. John Griffin, President of the Keep Jackson Beautiful Comission, detailed some of those statistics and plans for expansion.

The commission also discussed events coming up in April or "The Month Of Miracles." On April 13, they will be refreshing the planters located in downtown Jackson. On April 20, there will be Earth Day activities for kids. Finally, on April 27, there will be a city wide clean-up.
