On Monday, Jackson police presented evidence to the Madison County grand jury concerning Vinson's murder. Indictments were returned charging Kentavious Crisp, Emanuel Beard and Jateryance Smith, all of Jackson, with the first-degree murder of Jarvis Vinson, and attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault of Dennis Coman.

Following the indictment, a warrant was issued for Crisp, 22, who had not been arrested in connection with the case.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force, comprised of investigators with the Jackson Police Department's Gang Unit, developed a lead on Crisp's location. They arrested him Tuesday evening, without incident, inside an apartment in Patrician Terrace Apartments on Hollywood Drive.

He is currently being held at the Madison County Jail. He is entitled to a bond hearing at his arraignment. Crisp, along with Beard, 17, and Smith, 18, are scheduled to be formally arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Monday in Madison County Circuit Court, Division III. Crisp is the third and final person involved in the shooting.

Police are not searching for anyone else in connection with this case. Beard and Smith were arrested in Jackson on Aug. 20. Following a Sept. 19 transfer hearing in Madison County Juvenile Court, the judge ordered that they could be tried as adults. They both are being held, with no bond, at the Madison County Jail. Both were 17 when the crimes were committed.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 11, Jarvis Vinson, 23, was brought by private vehicle to Jackson- Madison County General Hospital with a gunshot wound. He died at 5:25 a.m. The investigation determined that there was a fight on Aug. 11. Beard and Smith were not involved in the fight but received a phone call about it shortly afterward. Smith and Beard then drove to the area of Brianfield Drive and picked up Crisp. Vinson and Dennis Coman had gotten out of an SUV and were walking toward the apartment building at 25 Brianfield Drive. Beard and Crisp both shot at Vinson and Coman as Smith drove by.

Police recovered a semi-automatic handgun from Beard's home.
