School Board Sends Contract To Ruffin For Signature

(February 18, 2013) Jackson TN - At a special called Board meeting for Jackson Madison County School System, Board members reviewed and approved a contract for a new superintendent of schools.

From beginning to this date the process has taken about four and a half months.

After the meeting Board chairman David Clifft summarized the process and what remains to be completed.

The chairman will execute the contract open completion of a background check of Ms. Ruffin and receipt of the signed agreement.

Verna Ruffin could be in Jackson full-time by June 1st under an agreement to hire her as a consultant. She will receive a daily prorated fee equal to her $150,000 salary, plus travel and expenses. She is expected to begin under contract July 1.
