Jackson police received a call around 11:00 a.m. today from a citizen who recognized the man wanted in the attempted robbery of the Circle K Convenience Store, Monday around midnight. Police arrested Joe Thomas Boone, 35, of Dyersburg, inside a business in the 2100 block of N. Highland Avenue. He was wearing the same pants and shoes as shown in the surveillance video.
Boone admitted to investigators that he had committed the crime.
Police charged him with Attempted Aggravated Robbery. He will be formally arraigned in Jackson City Court tomorrow morning at 8:00.

On June 22 around 12:00 a.m., Jackson police received a call to the Circle K Convenience Store at 1831 U. S. 45 By-Pass. A man entered the business and asked for change to use the phone. When the clerk opened the register, he stuck his hand under his shirt, pointed his finger as if it were a weapon and demanded money. The robbery was thwarted when the clerk grabbed a hammer and told the man to get out.
He left the business and ran northwest around the corner of the building.
He was described as a white male, around 5'6". He had short blonde hair and was balding on top. He had a blonde mustache and beard.
