Team Madison County is pleased to announce that Carlisle Tire & Wheel www.carlisletire.com, a subsidiary of Carlisle Companies (NYSE:CSL) will establish a division in Jackson, Tenn.
The company, headquartered in Aiken, SC, manufactures tires, inner tubes, and wheels for agriculture, all terrain vehicles, golf, industry, lawn and garden, and trailer markets. Carlisle Tire & Wheel will purchase the Whirlpool facility; a decision that will create
400-plus jobs. Carlisle Tire and Wheel began as a company in 1917 as a manufacturer of automotive tire inner tubes. The company survived the Great Depression and World War Two and experienced strong growth in the post war period through a
diversification of its product lines. Because of its investment in Tennessee, the company will qualify for a variety of statutory incentives, including FastTrack Job Training Assistance, Industrial Machinery Tax Credits and Jobs Tax Credits.
Jackson continues to grow and provide jobs in the industrial sector due to the efforts of Team Madison County, which is comprised of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, Jackson Energy Authority, TVA, the City of Jackson, Madison County, and includes the state's Department of Economic and Community Development, led by Commissioner Matt Kisber.
