THREE ADULTS AND ONE JUVENILE CHARGED IN SEPARATE AUTO BURGLARIES OVER WEEKEND

PHOTOS BELOW Early Sunday morning, officers were conducting an operation in the area of 63 Heritage Square near Mix Factory when a male was seen running across the parking lot with a bag in his hand. He got into a dark colored GMC Jimmy and the vehicle immediately left the scene. An officer stopped the vehicle on the 45 By Pass at St. Mary’s and while speaking to the three occupants of the SUV the officer saw two ladies’ purses in the back seat. An officer on the parking lot of Mix Factory located an 2002 model white KIA which had been left unlocked that had the two purses stolen from. All three of the occupants in the SUV were arrested. After further investigation, two of the subjects were later released after determining they were not a part of the thefts. Josh Lee Moody was charged with one count of auto burglary and theft of property under $500. He was arraigned in City Court today. The bond was set at $15,000 and his next court date will be September 3, 2009 in City Court. During a separate incident, officers were called to Scores Bar located at 45 Broadview early morning Sunday where a citizen reported six males were seen around a car acting suspicious. One of the males broke out a window on a white Mercury Grand Marquis and reached inside taking property from it. All six of the subjects ran from the scene. Three were later captured by police when they arrived and spotted them as they were attempting to get into a vehicle they had left near the car wash at 23 Broadview. Two were identified as Jalstin Cole 20 years of age and Jarvis Cole 18 years of age. The third person was later determined to be a juvenile 17 years old. The three were charged with auto burglary, theft of property over $500 and vandalism. The juvenile was charged additionally with drug paraphernalia. The juvenile had a detention hearing today and was release to his parents. Jackson Police would like to remind our citizens to remember to lock your vehicles and don’t leave items visible in the interior. Please, always report suspicious activity.
