JPD Investigates Alligations Against Madison County Circuit Court Clerk

This is the narrative of the criminal summons that will be on file with City Court and as part of the summons would be public record once it is served and on file.  The summons was served to Ms. Barnhill at midday Tuesday September 29. The Defendant is charged with Aggravated Criminal Trespass and Assault. A narrative is only the Plaintiff's version of the events used for the purpose of issue the summons. All Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty Narrative: On September 26, 2009, around 5:15 p.m., Jackson Police Department received a call to 35 Beth Place Jackson, TN. According to George and Cynthia Evans, they were inside their home at 35 Beth Place. Kary Barnhill was there visiting at the time. Mrs. Evans answered a knock at the door. Kary Barnhill's estranged mother-in-law, Judy Barnhill began yelling at Mrs. Evans and accused her of "taking sides". Mrs. Evans tried to prevent Judy Barnhill from entering  her home, but she pushed past  Mrs. Evans and entered the house. Mrs. Evans began calling for her husband. Mr. Evans met Judy Barnhill in the kitchen and stood in front of her, preventing her from going any further and ordered her to leave. Mr. Evans had to physically remove Judy Barnhill from his home. Mrs. Barnhill continued to shout at Mr. Evans once they were outside. When Mr. Evans threatened to call the police, Mrs. Barnhill got into her vehicle and left the scene.
