Police Arrest Third Man in Attempted Murder and Kidnapping

Jackson Police arrested Randy Miller, 23, of Jackson, Wednesday around 4:00 p.m. for a November 2 attack on Freddy Jones, 52. He is charged with Attempted Murder and Especially Aggravated Kidnapping. He was formally arraigned in Jackson City Court this morning. His bond was set at $400,000. Two other men, Sam Stevenson, 44; and Brian Brawner, 28; were arrested back on November 3. They both are still being held at the Madison County Jail with a bond amount of $400,000. Jones remains in critical condition at the burn center at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. RECAP: On November 3 around 9:30 a.m., Jackson Police received a call that a man had been burned. Freddy Jones told police that on the previous night, around 11:00 p.m., he was doused with alcohol, set on fire, and then held against his will, inside his house, in the 100 block of Alexander Street by Randy Miller, Brian Brawner and Sam Stevenson. The investigation shows that Jones, Stevenson and Brawner all lived together at the house. Jones suffered severe burns over a great portion of his body and was transported by EMS to the emergency room at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, then on to the burn center at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
