Officers of the Jackson Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit and the Jackson Police Department’s Gang and Street Crimes Units arrested 22 people after conducting an investigation with the cooperation of local pharmacies into purchases of pseudoephedrine for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine. This operation began on December 4, 2009 and continued through yesterday. Psuedoephedrine is the primary ingredient in decongestant cold medicines that have to be purchased through a pharmacy and not over-the-counter. It is also the most common essential precursor chemical used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance.
The following persons were arrested in connection with this investigation and all were charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture, a Class D Felony.
On December 4, 2009 Jennifer Dunaway, age 23, of Ridley, TN, Christopher Neal Hardy, age 34, of Dyersburg, TN, Ginger Diane Patterson, age 29, of Dyersburg, TN and Robert Lynn Hunt, age 30, of Finley, TN were arrested on Highway 412 and Bells Highway. Officers found other items in the vehicle, such as lithium batteries and ammonia nitrate, used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. This stop also led to the discovery of a meth lab in Dyer County. In addition to the Promotion of Meth Manufacture charge, Hardy was also charged with possession of Cocaine and Possession of Meth and Patterson was charged with Possession of the Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Xanax. All four are being held in the Madison County Jail in lieu of a $3,000 bond each. They also have holds on them for Dyersburg Police. Dunaway and Hardy additionally have holds on them for charges in the State of Missouri.
On December 5, 2009 Derek K. Patterson, age 20, of Camden, TN and Winston L. Lowery, age 18, of Camden, TN were arrested on Interstate 40 at Exit 85. They were transported to the Madison County Jail. Patterson is still being held in lieu of a $3,000 bond. Lowery was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana and was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
Jeffery Dale Mitchell, age 23, of Huntingdon, TN was arrested after being stopped at Old Humboldt Rd. and Highway 45 Bypass. He was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana and was released from custody after posting a $10,000 bond.
Belinda Lea Lance, age 36, Michael Keith Webster, age 38, and Jennifer Cooksey, age 29, all of Sardis, TN were arrested after they were stopped in the 300 block of Park St. All were transported to the Madison County Jail and are being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
James Wickers, age 40 and Douglas Todd Fry, age 49, both of Cedar Grove, TN were arrested near the intersection of Ashport Road and North Highland. They were transported to the Madison County Jail. Wickers has been released after posting a $3,000 bond and Fry is still being held in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
On December 6, 2009 Christine Ann Cary, age 33 of Huntingdon, TN and Richard Darren Sellers, age 39, of Cedar Grove, TN were arrested after being stopped in the 3800 block of North Highland. They were transported to the Madison County Jail and are being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond each.
Ronnie David Reynolds, age 43 and Jason Bennett Puckett, age 27, both of Greenfield, TN were arrested after being stopped at the intersection of Wiley Parker Road and North Highland. Reynolds was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were released after posting a $3,000 bond each.
Micheal Shannon Warren, age 38 of Waynesboro, TN and Kimberly Abrams, age 36 of Savannah, TN were arrested after they were stopped at the intersection of Lambuth and Wisdom Streets. Both were transported to the Madison County Jail. Warren and Abrams were additionally charged with Possession of A Schedule II Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Warren was released after posting a $3,000 bond and Abrams is still being held in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
Jimmy Dale Moudy, age 20 and Kevin Moudy, age 31, both of Hollow Rock, TN were arrested and transported to the Madison County Jail. They have both been released after posting a $3,000 bond each.
On November 20, 2009 investigators of the Metro Narcotics unit conducted a similar operation. Barbara W. Darsey, age 39, of Milan, TN and Christopher Franklin Graham, age 24, of Trezvant, TN, were arrested on the Highway 45 Bypass on 11/20/2009. Ms. Darsey has been released from custody after posting a $2,500 bond. Mr. Graham was only charged with Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia, another essential chemical in the manufacture of methamphetamine, and was released from custody after posting a $500 bond.
