01-02-10 UPDATE - The victim has been identified as John C Nolan, age 22, 33 Daniel Road, Jackson TN. Madison County Sheriff's Office has requested an autopsy.
01-01-10 The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison County Fire Department responded to a call of a vehicle fire on Ashport Road near Christmasville Road on January 1, 2010, shortly before 3:00 a.m.
The investigation revealed that the driver of a vehicle, believed to be a dark grey Nissan Altima, was apparently traveling east on Ashport Road near Christmasville Road. The vehicle apparently left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire. The vehicle was totally destroyed in the fire. The driver is believed to be a male, age and race unknown.
The body has been sent to the Nashville Forensic Center to determine the exact cause of death.
Anyone with information that can aide in identifying the victim is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at 731/423-6000. The investigation is continuing.
