Taylor Woodson Has Died as a Result of Shooting Taylor Woodson was removed from life support late last night at The Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The Med) as a result of being shot in the head. This brings the total number of homicides in Jackson to 14 for the year 2009. RECAP: On December 31, 2009, around 4:30 p.m., Jackson Police responded to the parking lot of Eastpointe Apartments at 504 Daughtery Street. Officers found, 16-year-old, Taylor Woodson lying next to a maroon Mercury Marquis with a serious gunshot wound and, 19-year-old, Jamarcus Johnson seated in the driver's seat of the Marquis with a gunshot wound to the head. There was a pistol in his lap and evidence indicated that the shots occurred inside the car. Johnson was deceased at the scene. Witnesses reported that Johnson pulled into a parking place and called Woodson over to the car. After a brief conversation, they heard a shot and saw Woodson fall, then heard a second shot. The two had a prior relationship and had apparently worked together. Police are not seeking any other suspects in connection with this case.
