UNDERCOVER INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN TWO ARRESTS AND SEARCH WARRANT
After a seven month long investigation, officers of the Jackson Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit have arrested two people for Sale and Delivery of Oxycontin, a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Ashley Coleman, age 25, and her husband Troy Coleman, age 26, of 11 Brentwood Street in Jackson were indicted yesterday by the Madison County Grand Jury, each on a 3 count indictment charging them with Sale and Delivery of A Schedule II Controlled Substance.
During the course of the investigation, investigators learned that Ms. Coleman, who is an employee of Madison County government, utilized a vehicle provided to her by Madison County to carry out at least one of the drug transactions.
This morning investigators went to the couple’s home to serve the arrest warrants issued as a result of yesterday’s indictments. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the home and located additional drugs on the premises. Investigators seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia, Xanax, and Oxycontin. In addition to the charges that come out of yesterdays Grand Jury, they now face additional charges of Possession of A Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (Oxycontin), Possession of A Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (Xanax), Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Officers also seized over $1,300 in cash.
Both of the Colemans are being held in the jail at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex awaiting arraignment on all these charges.
