Republican candidate Steven Fincher appears on Fox Business News. He is one of two Republicans seeking the seat being vacated by retiring 8th district Congressman John Tanner.
In this interview Fincher says he did not seek the seat but was recruited by local republican leaders and the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee).

Tea Party candidate
Donn Janes. Democrat State Senator Roy Herron is also running for the seat.
