UNDERCOVER OPERATION LEADS TO 3 ARRESTS
An undercover operation conducted last night by the Special Operations Division, which included officers from the Metro Narcotics Unit, the Gang Unit, the Street Crimes Unit and the Tact Team, led to three arrests last night in 3 different neighborhoods. The operation specifically targeted open air or street corner drug markets. Undercover officers of the Metro Narcotics Unit, travelled through various neighborhoods throughout the city to attempt purchases of illegal drugs.
Willie Savage, age 45, of Holland Ave., was arrested at the corner of First and Vance Streets after selling .4 grams (about $40 worth) of crack cocaine to the undercover officers. He was charged with Sale and Delivery of Crack Cocaine.
Steve Sewell, age 48, of 1160 Hollywood Dr., was arrested in the 100 block of Alexander Street after selling one rock (.1 grams) of crack cocaine to the undercover officers. He was also charged with Sale and Delivery of Crack Cocaine.
Corbyn Davis, age 18, of East Deadrick St., was arrested at the Old Hickory Inn on the Hwy 45 Bypass after selling .2 grams of crack cocaine to the undercover officers. At the time of his arrest officers found an additional 2.6 grams (about $260 worth) in his pockets. Davis was charged with Sale and Delivery of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Deliver.
All three persons were transported to the Madison County Jail and will appear in Jackson City Court next week.
