Today, at around 1:10 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of skeletal remains discovered in a wooded area off Cobb Road in east Madison County.
The investigation revealed that employees of a timber company were looking at a timber plot when the remains were found.
The medical examiner has confirmed that they are human remains, but unknown whether they are male or female. The medical examiner also advised that it is his opinion the skeletal remains had been there for at least a year or more. The case is being investigated as a homicide at this time.
