UPDATE ON SKELETAL REMAINS:
The skeletal remains located in a wooded area off Cobb Road have been positively identified. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office /Violent Crimes Unit and The Forensic Center in Nashville, TN, identified the remains as
Sharon Denise Williams; last known address was 245 Neff Street, Apt. A, Jackson, TN.
The victim was reported missing on July 10, 2008; however, she had been missing three weeks prior to the reported date.
Sharon Denise Williams was 31 years of age at the time she was reported missing. Victim was mentally challenged.
Anyone with information in reference to the case is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Unit at 731/423-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 731/424-8477.
The investigation is continuing.

BACKGROUND:
Anthropologist Dr. Hugh Berryman and his team from The Forensic Center in Nashville, TN, were dispatched to aide in the investigation in attempting to determine the identification, race and gender of the skeletal remains.
The investigation revealed that employees of a timber company were looking at a timber plot when the remains were found.
