UPDATE -
Equipment failure within Gibson Electric Membership Corporation’s Bells substation caused a lengthy outage to about 2,650 of the cooperative’s customer-owners in and around Bells and Fruitvale this afternoon. The outage began at 12:15 p.m. and service was restored to some customers at 2 p.m. The remaining customers had service restored at 5:30 p.m. Gibson EMC apologizes for this lengthy outage and thanks its customers for their patience.

About 2,650 Gibson Electric Membership Corporation customer-owners in the Bells and Fruitvale areas have experienced a lengthy outage this afternoon. The outage, caused by an equipment failure in the Bells substation, began at around 12:15 p.m. Crews were immediately dispatched and restored service to some customers at 2 p.m. Crews are continuing to work and will restore service to all customers as quickly as possible. Gibson EMC apologizes for this lengthy outage and thanks its customers for their patience.
