Lambuth Faculty and Staff are Firmly Behind Their School
During a staff meeting Lambuth University faculty learned the school will not be able to make its payroll on time this month. Nevertheless, Employees believe in the future of Lambuth and are willing to give their support in anyway they can even if that means being patient for their paychecks. Staff members are hopeful a deal will be reached soon for the school even though no viable proposal is currently on the table. One employee said “Lambuth is part of the community, the history, it is family and you don’t give up on family”
The executive committee of Lambuth’s board of trustees met Thursday afternoon to be updated on any developments in attempts to sell the campus to a for-profit management/ownership group.
According to PR Director Mickey Goodwin the university is still pursuing a deal but doesn't currently have a viable proposal on the table.
The full board of trustees is scheduled to meet next Friday to discuss options for the university's future. The school needs interim financing to carry it through June in order to meet expenses including payroll. Payroll was scheduled for Friday. According to officials it is unknown when payroll will be met.
