One week later
February 2 - Jackson Madison County School Board in a special called meeting approves requesting funds for a new JCM & other school projects. Hires ex-superintendent Roy Weaver as consultant. The board acted quickly to approve a motion that failed just one week ago
Not all the board members were in agreement. The vote was 7 -1 in favor. Linda Pride had concerns that she addressed to the board AFTER the vote.
No word on when Roy Weaver will start or what his consultant salary will be. School Board member Keeton answered member Dave Bratcher when he asked that question after the vote to hire.
Last week the board held a special called mtg to discuss spending and salaries. Dr. Zambito has already had to take 100,000 dollars out of the budget to help pay the costs of the consultants the State had promised to pay as a result of the failure to meet No Child Left Behind.
Mr Weaver served as a consultant once before for the JMCSS when he was paid an extra year salary to assist Dr. Nancy Zambito and the board in the Superintendent transition.
