NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans just keep doing the
quarterback shuffle due to injuries, and now it's Vince Young whose
left sprained ankle is healthy enough for him to start with backup
Kerry Collins missing several games due to a strained left calf.
Coach Jeff Fisher said Monday an MRI exam showed the strained
calf for Collins that will keep him out at least two games. That
means rookie Rusty Smith will back up Young on Sunday when the
Washington Redskins visit.
The Titans (5-4) have started a different quarterback each of
the past three games with the starter unable to finish three of the
previous four. That hasn't helped fix their third-down problems on
offense or extend drives either, and Tennessee now has lost two
straight.
