Jackson got on the board in the first inning when Denny Almonte (3x4, RBI) came home after Chih-Hsien Chiang grounded into a double play. The Generals expanded their lead to 2-0 in the second inning on a balk by Montgomery starter Alex Colome.
In the fifth inning, Gabriel Noriega scored on a double by Denny Almonte (11). Stefen Romero (2x4, RBI) doubled in Almonte with one out in the inning. Romero later crossed the plate on a wild pitch by Colome, making the score 5-0.
Chris Pettit blasted his fourth homer of the year in the sixth inning, scoring Joe Dunigan and making the lead 7-0.
Montgomery scored their first run in the eighth inning on an RBI single by Ty Morrison. In the ninth, Ryan Garko scored on a ground out by Tyler Bortnick.
RHP Taylor Stanton (3-2, 5.84) tossed five shutout innings, allowing only two hits and striking out two in the win.
