Jackson did all of its offensive damage in the first two innings of the game. Jesus Sucre started things off with a 2-out double, scoring Stefen Romero from first base.
In the second inning, Romero drove in Johermyn Chavez for his 13th RBI of the season.
Montgomery scored their lone run with two outs in the fifth inning. Hak-Ju Lee grounded into a force out, but Michael Sheridan (2x4, .243) was able to come home on the play to make the score 2-1.
Kalian Sams had a good night at the plate, going 2-for-3, including a triple in the third inning.
RHP Forrest Snow earned his first Jackson win, tossing six quality innings for Jackson. Snow allowed five hits and one earned run while striking out four. Reliever Mauricio Robles earned his fifth hold of the season after 1.2 innings of work.
RHP Carter Capps pitched the last 1.1 innings of the game, striking out two and gaining his 13th save of the year. Capps has not allowed an earned run since April 29th.
The Generals will wrap up this three-game series against the Biscuits on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. LHP James Paxton (3-3, 3.88) will start for Jackson against RHP Jacob Thompson (5-5, 5.17) for Montgomery. After the game there will be an Independence Eve High Tech Special Effects Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by Physicians Quality Care.
